The average player in Lignano will be 63 years old and has had Parkinson’s for eight years

327 players want to compete in Lignano, and the age difference between the oldest and the youngest female player will be considerable: There are a whole 45 years between the oldest participant at 80 and the youngest at 35. Among the men, there are only 39 years between the oldest at 82 and the youngest at 43. The average age of the men on the opening day is 64.32 years. The ladies are then three and a half years younger at 60.85.
There are many players who have not been affected by Parkinson’s for long. Three players, however, have already been diagnosed in the last millennium. One player from Germany has already been a fighter against Parkinson’s for 35 years – in Wels he will do so in the men’s class 3. For the men, the Parkinson’s diagnosis on the opening day of Wels is on average 8.13 years ago, for the women only slightly more at 8.24 years.
