Around 1,700 matches are planned in Lignano

As the registration for the doubles and mixed pairs has not yet been completed, it is not yet clear how many doubles and mixed will compete in Lignano. If all players would play doubles and all women would participate in the mixed competition, there would be a total of exactly 1,690 matches on the six competition days in Lignano. The final number, however, will certainly be lower and close to 1,650.
In the singles, the number can already be given with a fair degree of certainty. On Tuesday (men) and Wednesday (women) in the preliminary round matches there will be exactly 780 matches on the 38 tables. On the first three days, there will be around 360 games in the groups of four in the doubles and mixed preliminary rounds, and from Thursday to Saturday there will be around 460 games in the knockout rounds on the 22 tables. On the other hand, the number of matches on the final day on Sunday can be specified exactly: 90 matches, namely 36 singles, 36 doubles and 18 mixed doubles.
