Dear participants of the PingPongParkinson World Championship,
as part of our tournament from September 26th to 30th of this year in Hannover, we are
planning something very special.
It is now a recognized fact that sports – and especially table tennis, thanks to pioneer Nenad
Bach – can slow down the progression of Parkinson’s and enrich our lives; this is, of course,
also due to the ever-so-important social exchange. But we have also realized: underneath
many tricots beats a heart that is just as creative as it is athletic.
We would like to make the artistic side of our international community visible. We want
to exhibit your artwork in Hannover, inspire one another and – what is just as important –
create space for the exchange of ideas and new collaborations.
To ensure a meaningful art exhibition with a positive public impact for the creative areas of
our community, independent curators will judge your works submitted by July 28th based
on their artistic expressiveness and design. We are happy and proud to have won Swiss
video and installation artist Tatjan Marusic, British artist Bruce McLean, and Berlin gallery
owner Karsten Jarmuschek for this task.
Invitation for taking part in the PPP Art Exhibition 2026
All participants of the PingPongParkinson World Championship who are active in the
creative arts are warmly invited to submit one or, at most, two works of art (maximum size 100 x
100 cm) created since their Parkinson’s diagnosis, initially in digital form, for judging.
The following genres are eligible:
● Drawings, paintings and collages (preferably on canvas)
● Prints and photographs (ideally framed or mounted on canvas)
For organisational reasons, please note that sculptures or works that protrude more than 6cm
into the space are excluded from participation.
Process
Works must be submitted digitally (see instructions below) by e-mail till 28 July. The jury will
then make a decision promptly, and artists will be informed of the result in writing by e-mail.
The selected works can then be delivered to the exhibition venue in one of two ways:
● Personal delivery by the artists on the first day of the World Cup (26 September)
● Parcel service (e.g. DHL, costing between €40 and €80 depending on size) to anaddress specified in the selection e-mail. The costs of dispatch and return (pre-paid return label)
are to be borne by the artists.
All works must be insured by the artists themselves. At the Akademie des Sports in Hanover,
they will not be hung on hooks but secured using self-adhesive Powerstrips, which can usually
only be removed from picture frames without leaving any residue.
By taking part in the exhibition, the artists also agree that their works will be available for sale in
Hanover. They also agree that 20 per cent of the proceeds will go to PingPongParkinson
Deutschland e.V.
Call for entries
The deadline for applications is 28 July 2026 at 23:59 (CET).
The following documents must be submitted:
- One digital photograph per artwork: in PDF format (maximum size 1 MB per file).
The photograph file of the artwork must be named as follows:
[Surname][First name][Genre][Support][Original dimensions in cm]

or: Jane Smith_Maria_Collage_Canvas_50x50cm - An artist profile: a portrait photograph (2:3 aspect ratio) with your name and hometown, plus a
